The Puri Home

Featured in 2011

Beautifully sited on a two acre corner lot, this impressive 15,000 square-foot estate home was built by its owner, Prem Puri, a homebuilder for nearly 30 years and recipient of the 2009 Builder of the Year award by Montgomery County.   The home features a very open floor plan, and from the Grand Foyer one can see most of the rooms on the main level. The Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and Morning Room are defined with dark marble borders inlaid in marble flooring.  Note the handsome circular staircase, overlaid with granite and marble, and the unique crown moldings that are used throughout the home.  The décor is European in style with touches of Asian influence.

The Chef’s Kitchen is gorgeous with a large island, handsome granite counters, a marble backsplash, beautiful tall cabinets and a hidden pantry, loved by visitors!  Just off the kitchen is the Morning Room overlooking the rear yard.  The Family Room is spectacular with its 30-foot paneled ceiling, 24-foot windows, floating fireplace and handsome tigerwood flooring from South Africa.  Also on this level are a Ball Room, a Home Office and a spacious first-floor Master Bedroom.  Note the tray ceiling and the continuation of the unique crown molding, the wonderful walk-in closets and luxurious marble Master Bath in the suite.

Two additional Master Bedrooms with luxury marble baths, including Jacuzzi tubs and separate showers, are found on the upper level of the home.  The owners’ Master Suite has a Kitchenette, private balcony, fireplace, separate Sitting Room and room-size walk-in closets. There are a total of nine bedrooms in the home.

The lower level features an enormous room with a handsome granite wet bar that is ideal for entertaining large groups, while smaller groups can gather for more intimate conversations near twin fireplaces on either side of the Great Room. The lower level also includes a Theater Room, Exercise Room and Maid’s Quarters.
